About Us

Bear Swamp is a 284-acre training facility conveniently located just 10 minutes from US Route 58 in Suffolk, VA. Our facilities include a covered 5-stand sporting clay,

shotgun competition ranges, pistol ranges

and 3 rifle ranges with distances from 100 yards up to 800 yards for qualified individuals.

For our members comfort, we have a climate-controlled venue with catered food and a VIP meeting room that is available for our members to reserve. Our ranges have covered shooting positions with benches and/or shelves for your gear.

Several of our ranges will showcase the ZF Technical MITS automated target systems to help you improve your shooting skills and have friendly competitions with your shooting companions.

We offer Bear Swamp branded custom Sig Saur and Glock handguns. Professional gunsmithing is available for those who need repairs or modifications to their firearms by appointment only.

Bear Swamp offers a variety of training courses from our basic pistol safety course and our home protection series to more advance courses directed at Law Enforcement and the Military.

Additionally, we will be offering DCJS courses that will earn you a state certification or help you maintain your current certification. Those classes include:
